Philadelphia – The City of Philadelphia Percent for Art Program and Department of Public Property seek to commission an indoor site-specific artwork that celebrates older adult activities and reflects the City’s support of caring for Philadelphia’s senior citizens.  The commission is part of the $4 million new construction of the Martin Luther King Older Adult Recreation Center.  This competition is limited to artists and artist-teams who reside in the mid-Atlantic states of  New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, and West Virginia.

While work of all mediums will be accepted, we strongly encourage artists from the crafts (ceramics, textiles, metals, etc.) field to apply.
