Civil Society Institute Fellowship Available:  One fellowship for a minority artist with demonstrable financial need from New Haven, Jersey City, or Baltimore.  The $25 application fee is waived for eligible CSI applicants.  This award also includes a $500 travel stipend.

This award and 40 others are available at our February 15th deadline, including 16 open merit-based fellowships, 2 awards for outstanding American poets with financial need, relief awards for artists affected by Hurricane Sandy, and more. School 33 Art Center invites artists to submit artwork for consideration for our annual fundraiser exhibition, LOTTA ART. This annual lottery-style event raises funds for the support and growth of School 33, the renowned Baltimore arts institution that has championed the arts for over 30 years through exhibitions, studio space, and arts education.

The 2013 Vans Custom Culture competition is underway with open registration. The first 1,500 US-based public or private high schools that register receive 4 pairs of blank canvas shoes.  Students then design and create art on the shoes in one of four categories, submit photos online and public votes choose five finalists.  Winners get to show off their work and the winning school’s art program gets $50,000.  For more information, visit www.vans.com/customculture.

 

The Open Society Institute-Baltimore seeks dynamic activists and social entrepreneurs interested in implementing projects that address problems in underserved communities in Baltimore City.

For fellowships beginning the fall of 2013, awards are in the amount of $60,000 over 18 months.
