Participate in Out of Order (OOO): MAP’s 21st Annual Benefit Exhibition and Silent Auction!

Any artist is welcome to hang one original work of art on the first come, first served installation day, taking place on Thursday, April 5, 2018, from 7 am – midnight. No need to sign up in advance, just come by MAP’s first-floor gallery space @ 218 West Saratoga Street in the new Bromo Tower Arts and Entertainment District!

  • All work must come framed and ready to hang and be 40 X 40″ or less
  • Registration is $10 and can be paid by cash or credit card
  • All works will be silently auctioned Friday, April 13th, 2018 from 7-10pm 
  • Participating artists receive free admission to OOO!

The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) and the Montgomery County Public Art Trust are issuing a call for art to reactivate The Contemporary Works on Paper Collection with new acquisitions from artists living in Montgomery County and the Greater Washington area. Artwork in this collection is owned by Montgomery County under the County’s Public Art Trust program and loaned to County agencies for display in public buildings.

This call is specifically for the purchase of original and unframed two-dimensional works of art that are contemporary and modern in style. These works may include but are not limited to paintings in various media, drawings in various media, photographs, mixed media, and limited edition prints.  These artworks should help create inspiring spaces that foster innovation, creative excellence and personal reflection. The Public Art Trust is especially interested in artworks that reflect the unique and diverse character of Montgomery County.

REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS

  • Artist Information: full name, current address, contact information
  • Artist Statement: 1 page maximum
  • Artist Resume: 1 page maximum
  • Images: High quality JPEG image files are preferred; professionally taken photographs of the artwork may be submitted.
  • Exhibition List: a document that includes the title, year, medium, dimension, price and edition number (if applicable) for each uploaded work of art. Listed price shall reflect a 20% discount.

Each year, Arlington Arts Center selects artists from across the Mid-Atlantic region for solo exhibitions in AAC’s seven separate gallery spaces or outside on the grounds. Six artists will be selected from this call for Fall SOLOS 2018. Proposals that specifically consider AAC’s space, layout, and surrounding environs are encouraged. The submission deadline is April 9, 2018.

The juror’s for Fall SOLOS 2018 are Cecilia Wichmann, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art, Baltimore Museum of Art and Maria del Carmen Montoya, Assistant Professor of Sculpture and Spatial Practice, George Washington University.

The exhibition will run from October 13 – December 15, 2018

June 3 – July 28, 2018

Located on NYU’s downtown campus, in the internationally recognized Steinhardt Department of Art and Art Professions, Summer Studio Residency is a non-residential, 8-week program providing prime space and personalized mentorship to 24 emerging artists interested in focusing on creative practice.

NYU’s SSR program encourages creative risk-taking, experimentation, and expansive dialogue across the following disciplines: drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, and video.

Through our innovative mentorship model, residents will work closely with practicing professional artists.

Terrault Gallery is excited to announce its its second Juried Exhibition, on view from May 5, 2018 – May 26, 2018 with an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 5th, 7-10pm.

The deadline for submissions is March 24th, 2018 at 11:59PM with an application fee of $15 payable through your Submittable application.

All mediums will be considered, must not exceed 60″ in any dimension. You may submit up to three images/videos (.jpg, .png, .tiff, .gif) of artwork to be considered. Videos will be submitted in the form of URL’s.

Exhibition Run: January 12 – February 17, 2019

Strathmore welcomes artists working in any medium to explore nocturnal themes. Whether it is the night sky, darkness, or the transformative nature of nightfall, Night delves into the beauty, mystery, and sometimes phobic qualities of the hours from dusk to dawn.

There is an application of $32 for each submission of up to 8 works. Submissions will be considered through a blind jurying process and juried on aesthetic value, mastery of craft, and relevance to the exhibition theme. Each artwork will be considered individually. There is no limit to how many works from one artist’s entry may be accepted. 

Cash prizes will be awarded to Best in Show, First Runner Up, and Second Runner Up at the opening reception. Honorable Mentions will also be recognized.
