Due to a large number of applications, we have decided to extend our deadline to April 17th.

Artists for Truth Benefit Exhibition Call for Entries: EXTENDED

We are Artists for Truth. We believe that the ability to discover, share, and weigh facts is a right and a responsibility afforded to everyone within our democracy.

In a political and media climate that disregards reality, we fight to enable citizens with the skills and tools to effectively develop a civil society based on truth. Join us!

Artists for Truth (AFT) is a fundraising and educational platform to support information literacy and freedoms, and to explore the artist’s role in amplifying, reflecting, and addressing societal concerns.

AFT is raising money for organizations that work to combat the spread of misinformation, teach media literacy, and protect the right to share and access factual information.

Every issue we care about and every vulnerable population is directly impacted by our ability to access real information and combat the spread of misinformation. As a citizenry, we are powerless to enact change on any front without securing this right.

AFT is now accepting submissions for the Artists for Truth benefit exhibition, taking place
June 2 – 23, 2017 at SpaceCamp Gallery at 16 West North Avenue in Baltimore’s Station North Arts and Entertainment District.
The call for entry is open to all visual artists working in two and three-dimensional media. Through this open call, AFT aims to exhibit and sell works of art by way of silent auction, with proceeds benefitting the following local and national organizations:
-The Center for Media Justice
-The News Literacy Project
-Baltimore Action Legal Team
-Enoch Pratt Free Library

Sales from the auction will be split between the artist and these organizations. Artists may elect to donate 50% or 100% of the artwork’s sale price.

Submission Guidelines:
Applications are available online at http://artistsfortruth.com/call/

Artists may submit up to three available artworks for inclusion in AFT’s exhibition. Artwork must be framed or otherwise ready to install. Artworks that speak directly to AFT’s mission are welcome but not required. Selected artists are fully responsible for delivering their donation, and for collecting the object if it is not sold.
