D. Watkins is the author of four prior books, editor-at-large for Salon, and a University of Baltimore lecturer.

Join the John Lamkin Favorites Jazz Quintet for free, outdoor, family-friendly jazz performances in the BMI’s covered pavilion this summer. Some seating will be available but visitors are welcome to bring their own chairs/blankets and refreshments. Restrooms are available inside the museum.

“Arctic Artistry” Exhibit Opens at the Baltimore Museum of Art


Explore the evolving role of Indigenous artists of the North American Arctic in
a new exhibition of 20 rarely shown objects, many from the BMA’s collection.
“Arctic Artistry” opens on July 17, 2022 and will remain on view through
January 8, 2023.
