The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the first class of its new Citizen Artist Fellows program, which recognizes artists across the country who utilize their art form for positive impact on communities small and large. These Citizen Artist Fellows will be a signature component of the annual Kennedy Center Arts Summit, to be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 in the Kennedy Center Theater Lab and live-streamed on the Kennedy Center website. The Summit, co-hosted by Renée Fleming and Yo-Yo Ma, is a national platform for shining a spotlight on stories of Citizen Artists who live up to President John F. Timeline:

The deadline for submission is Wednesday, September 28th, 2016.

The artists accepted to the exhibition will be notified Friday, September 30th.

Accepted work must be framed arrive at the gallery no later than Friday, November 4th. The opening reception will be Friday, November 11th and unsold works will be on display through December 9th.

The Town of North Beach is placing a call for entries for SUNRISE: A Celebration of the Arts which takes place Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 12 to 6 pm. The location of the event is along the beautiful Chesapeake Bay which borders Bay Avenue in North Beach, Maryland. The Town of Bel Air is seeking a muralist for an exterior wall located on the garages behind the Armory on Main Street. The purpose of the mural is to provide visual appeal to the blank wall on the north side of the Armory Garages and to provide additional public art in the downtown area.  The concept for the mural is to create a colorful, inviting piece of public art that highlights Bel Air as a designated Arts and Entertainment District. Creativity concerning style and content is encouraged to enhance the visual landscape.

Gen-Y 3.0: Aspiring DMV (ages 17-27) Artists

VisArts welcomes artists ages 17 – 27 in the DC, Maryland, Virginia, area to submit their application for review for Gen-Y 3.0, our third exhibition by young emerging artists in our Kaplan Gallery from July 22 – August 28, 2016.

Gen-Y 3.0 is an opportunity for young emerging artists to showcase their work in a professional art gallery. Work will be juried into the show by June 12, 2016.
