Call for Artwork

Whether it be a diagnosis of HIV or a lifelong battle with depression, stigma affects all of us. We currently have a call for artwork depicting the shame, denial, and secrets perpetuated by a world of stigma. All mediums of artwork accepted. First place prize is $250 and second and third place will be $125. Deadline of November 6th and no entry fee. Artwork will be displayed on our website, and some will be chosen for display or performance at the conference. Please direct submissions to natalie.martos@howard.edu.

25TH ANNUAL STRATHMORE JURIED EXHIBITION

Strathmore is now accepting submissions for our upcoming 25th Annual Strathmore Juried Exhibition, Art In Motion, on view January 9th – February 22nd, 2016. The deadline for submission is November 2nd, 2015. Strathmore Artist Membership is required to submit. Artists can become a Strathmore Artist for a fee of $50.

The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery opens a “call for entries” for the third annual Teen Portrait Competition. Artists between the ages of 13 and 17 may electronically submit portraits to the juried competition in the medium of painting and drawing, photography, and video through Friday, October 30 2015. The grand-prize portrait will be printed and displayed at the National Portrait Gallery in 2016.

The City of Bellevue seeks sculptures and/or proposals for site-specific/temporary sculptures. Sculptures will be exhibited at Bellevue City Hall, along the Pedestrian Corridor that crosses Downtown, and in the Downtown Park from June 24-October 16, 2016. Artwork will be juried by a panel of established professional artists and arts professionals.
Existing artworks selected for the show are eligible for honoraria, insurance, plus shipping and travel reimbursement up to $500 (artists can apply for additional assistance if required), and free professional installation.
Temporary/site-specific artworks created for this show, are eligible for honoraria, plus shipping and travel reimbursement up to $500 (artists can apply for additional assistance if required), limited materials budget for creating the work and professional installation assistance, (case by case basis). All temporary/site-specific artworks will be outdoors.
Fisher Gallery OPEN CALL FOR EXHIBITIONS — 2016
The Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center at Northern Virginia Community College, Alexandria Campus invites proposals for exhibitions in the Margaret W. and Joseph L. Fisher Art Gallery invites proposals from local area working artists.
Exhibition Timeframe : 6 – 8 exhibitions, beginning January 2016.
Proposals must be received by 5:00pm on Friday, November 6th, 2015.
