K-Town Studios for Artists in Baltimore, Maryland at The Cheon Kroiz Building

At the heart of Korea Town (K-Town) in Baltimore, Maryland, a three-stories commercial building rents out artist studios in varying sizes. The owners are artist Mina Cheon (Professor of Maryland Institute College of Art, MICA) and architect Gabriel Kroiz (Professor of Morgan State University) who both have studio and office spaces in the building. The K-Town Studios is at 100 W. 22nd Street, 21218, Baltimore, Maryland, between Howard and Maryland, directly across the street from the Korean Nakwon Restaurant, walking distance from MICA’s Fred Lazarus IV Center, and between Station North Arts District and Remington.

Call for Entries: LEAP is open to exceptionally talented graduate students and/or emerging artists who are beginning to receive recognition for their work, but are not currently represented by well-established galleries. Artists must work in craft media: ceramics, wood, metal/jewelry, glass, found materials, mixed media, fiber or a combination of these materials. The yearlong retail program features, markets and sells the work of one winner, who also receives a $1000 prize, and 6 finalists. Brigitte Martin, who is the creator and Editor-in-Chief of Crafthaus, will be the guest juror for LEAP 2016.

School 33 Art Center invites artists to submit artwork for consideration for our annual fundraiser exhibition, LOTTA ART. This annual lottery-style event returns to our own Light Street building this year, on Saturday, November 7th, 2015! The event raises funds for the support and growth of School 33, the renowned Baltimore institution that has championed the arts for over 35 years through exhibitions, studio space, and arts education.

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts and the Baltimore Office of Sustainability’s Growing Green Initiative welcome proposals from visual and performing artists, designers, and architects for their new grant program, Lots Alive.

Lots Alive supports the creation of temporary public art projects sited on vacant lots within the Baltimore City limits.  Project lifespans can range from one day to one year and can include, but are not limited to: site specific sculptures, artist-designed parklet furniture, fence treatments, and performing arts.  Projects that actively engage residents and community members in the design of the project are encouraged to apply.

Winning proposals will be eligible for grants ranging from $2000 to $10,000.

Designed in partnership with Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake’s Growing Green Initiative, Lots Alive aims to breathe life into underutilized vacant spaces through creative interventions.

Application Deadline November 9, 2015.

Professional artists are encouraged to participate in the request for qualifications process for providing professional artist services in Columbia, Missouri to the Downtown Community Improvement District for the implementation of The District Gateway Master Plan – The Hub Stories. The Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and proposal submission information may be found at discoverthedistrict.com. The RFQ intends to provide each artist with enough information to submit an application proposal for services to The District. The purpose of this process is to determine the artist who best meets the demands of the downtown community and requirements of the Downtown CID project.
