F.E.A.S.T. at VisArts 2016 (Funding Emerging Art with Sustainable Tactics) is a bridge between artists and the community. F.E.A.S.T. is a public meal designed to use community-driven financial support to democratically fund projects that use art and creative thinking to impact the community.

F.E.A.S.T. at VisArts 2016 will take place on September 25th on the Rooftop at VisArts in Rockville, Maryland, 11:30 to 3:00 PM. Diners listen to and review a series of project proposals and converse with the artists and thinkers behind each idea. Attendees cast a vote for their favorite proposal, and by the end of the event, the artist who garners the most votes is awarded a grant comprised of the event ticket money.

There is a $25 deposit required to be able to showcase in the show.

If you’re interested in doing body painting, just let us know. Bring your drop cloth, paints, and model and we’ll have a place for you to set up at the show!

Vendors: We will provide a table for you to vend and you take 100% of all sales.

You can pay the deposit online at www.humbleartisan.bigcartel.com or we can meet up for payment. The deposit is DUE by OCTOBER 1st, 2016 and artist slots are filled on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS.

Donate a cup and you could win a Solo Show!
Clayworks is looking for your generous cup donations in support our artistic programming. The cups are given out of kindness, but will also provide you an opportunity to win a Solo Exhibition in our gallery next year.

The visiting public, both actual and virtual, will be able to vote for their favorite ones. The top five artists will then be invited to submit more images that will subsequently be juried by our Resident Artists and one lucky artist will be offered a solo show in 2017.Drop off or send in your cup today! The third annual Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards is searching for the best songwriters in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The competition, founded by Cathy Bernard, is named in honor of Fred Ebb, one of the great American songwriters and creator of Broadway hits such as Cabaret and Chicago and iconic songs including New York, New York. 

The adjudicated contest will award one talented songwriter a grand prize of $10,000. A young songwriter who is 17 or younger will also be honored with $2,500.

Applicants are invited to submit three original songs. Each song must have lyrics. All genres are accepted. Maximum song length is 4:30min. Finalists will be invited to perform their songs on March 3, 2017.

VOX POPULI is accepting applications for guest exhibitions through October 9, 2016

Vox Populi offers artists and curators living outside of Philadelphia the opportunity to extend and challenge their artistic development. Vox Populi is particularly interested in exhibitions by national and international artists and curators without commercial representation who work in experimental media, employ alternative methodologies and want to exposure their practice to new audiences. Vox Populi accepts applications for solo exhibitions by individuals or collectives to show in one of our four gallery spaces. Applicants should submit a statement, resume and work samples (including images, audio files or short texts). Selected guests are expected to arrange for their installation and de-installation. Upon acceptance, the work(s) must be ready and available to exhibit in 2017. Vox Populi’s members will select and group submitted projects. Exhibiting guests will receive an honorarium of $500.

The Overlook

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA), in collaboration with the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore Inc. and the Baltimore CityDepartment of Recreation & Parks seeks artists and artist groups to develop unique and original artwork to be included in a new overlook section of Rash Field, as a part of the Rash Field Improvement Project. The overlook will serve as an important physical connection between the Inner Harbor, the improved Rash Field, Federal Hill and the communities south of the park. Selected artist(s) will work closely with the project design team to identify proposed park elements that may be enhanced through the integration of art. Any artist or artist team over the age of 18 living or working in the United States is eligible to apply. Interested artists should apply by Friday, October 7, 2016.
