Request for Proposals: IMPACT at GREEN SPRING STATION

Impact Public Art

Application Deadline: Saturday, August 15, 2015.
MAP is now accepting applications for its fall 2015 IMPACT project at Green Spring Station. This fall, MAP is partnering with Green Spring Station for an artist or team of artists to create an original temporary indoor installation comprised of items from the merchants of Green Spring Station. Items may include: resistance bands/dumbbells, bras, nighties, pjs, hair products, blow-dryer, dresses, tennis racquets and balls, boxed stationery, journal, guest books, calendars, sample event stationery, children’s books, wooden toys, and candy. The resulting sculpture does not need to incorporate all materials.
The selected artist/artist team will receive a $1,000 stipend to cover the cost of materials and labor. Installation is scheduled to take place between October 1 and November 13, 2015. Green Spring Station will host an opening reception at the site in mid November.
The full RFP can be downloaded here. This call is open to all Maryland based artists.
IMPACT is a public art initiative developed to extend Maryland Art Place’s programming to broader audiences. Each IMPACT project is unique and developed based on the partnering site. MAP plans to host two to three IMPACT projects over the course of 2015.
