Photographs from Cuba and the Polar Regions by Janet Little Jeffers

On Friday May 15, WTMD presents “Thaw,” a site-specific exhibit of photos from Cuba and the polar regions taken by Janet Little Jeffers. Images of remote, surreal polar landscapes contrast with the people and details of the rich, decaying man-made Cuban environment. Both areas have been in the news recently, for different kinds of thawing – one from global warming; the other from a warming of diplomatic relations. Presented by New Belgium Brewing, the exhibit opens with a free reception 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday May 15 at WTMD, 1 Olympic Place in Towson, and features a performance by Baltimore rockers Western Star. The exhibit will run through June 30.
