A two-year hatchery of innovation, the Visual Artist Fellowship underscores CFEVA’s commitment to fostering artistic excellence and furthers its mission to help visual artists build sustainable careers.
Artists are selected by an independent Board of Artistic Advisors based on the merit of their artwork, demonstrated ability to reach stated goals, and a clear vision for the next level in their professional practice.
The Fleur and Charles Bresler Artist Residency
In honor of VisArts patrons, Fleur and Charles Bresler, VisArts invites applications and proposals from local, national, and international artists for a four month residency at VisArts at Rockville. This residency provides a unique opportunity for a dynamic individual artist or collaborative artist team to create a new body of work, evolve an existing body of work or develop a project in a stimulating, supportive environment. Studio space is provided free of charge. The residency encourages interaction, dialogue and exploration both within the VisArts artist community and the larger Rockville community as well. The residency offers the gift of time and space to three artists and/or collaborative artist teams each year to experiment and realize new work. Each year the current Bresler Resident Artists will present their work in a three-person exhibition at VisArts.

Have your work noticed and purchased by area buyers & collectors, just in time for the holidays! Maryland Art Place (MAP) is seeking artists for UNDER $500, our upcoming winter benefit exhibition. On Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15, 2018, this two-day event will promote the sale of artwork by artists in the Maryland region. Guests can expect to mingle with other artists, collectors, patrons, and general art enthusiasts at the event with an open wine and beer bar, along with light tastings with a holiday twist.
The exhibition will include 1-3 works by each artist with each individual piece retailing for $500 or less. Participating artists will receive one free ticket to the opening event on Friday, December 14. Selected artists will be issued an UNDER $500 profile form in an effort to simultaneously promote the artist during the event. Proceeds from the sale of artwork will be split 50/50 with each artist.

Open Call for Public Sculpture:
Watermen’s Heritage Sculpture
Concord Point Park, Havre de Grace, Maryland
The City of Havre de Grace, MD, the Public Arts Committee and partners are seeking a sculpture that will reflect the maritime culture of Havre de Grace and raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy Chesapeake Bay to our ecological system.
The sculpture must be designed for outdoor installation on the waterfront. The anticipated footprint for the sculpture is to be no larger than 100 square feet. The installation may include a base, which could incorporate a plinth, slab or inground anchors for the sculpture. The proposed site is on the water front in Concord Point Park. The sculpture must be large enough to be visible from the water.
The total cost to purchase and install the sculpture is not to exceed $20,000.

Arts Every Day’s 2019 10×10 Exhibit is inspired by the efforts centered around the Baltimore Ceasefire movement who work
tirelessly throughout the city to build empathy and compassion and send messages of peace while promoting:
- non-violent conflict resolutions through resources, community gatherings, and outreach
- respect for others and oneself through conversations and making connections with one another
- celebration of life through life-affirming events where stories are shared
- respect and understanding of community through encouraging youth to explore their city

AAC’s SOLOS exhibitions program supports the work of emerging contemporary artists in the Mid-Atlantic region. Each year, AAC accepts proposals from artists for solo exhibitions to take place in one of AAC’s seven separate gallery spaces. Proposals are accepted through an open call and selected by guest jurors, in consultation with AAC staff. The resulting program presents a suite of cutting-edge exhibitions which include artwork in a variety of media.
WHO CAN SUBMIT?
Artists who produce contemporary art in any media, and who live or work in the Mid-Atlantic region (defined as Virginia; Washington, DC; Maryland; West Virginia; Pennsylvania; or Delaware) may submit exhibition proposals. Any existing works must have been completed within the last 3 years in order to be considered. Proposals that specifically take into account AAC’s exhibition spaces are encouraged.
